“Lethal Weapon.” all day, AMC. We used to think rule-breaking cops were kind of fun. That era returns with four films that have Danny Glover and Mel Gibson as mismatched partners. They’re at 12:30 p.m. (1987), 3 p.m. (1989), 5:30 p.m. (1992) and 8 p.m. (1998). At 11 p.m. is a “Line of Duty” episode that debuted in England in 2016, but reflects current crises. Last week, the Armed Response Unit was called in and ended up killing the suspect. In this hour (the second of six), some tips aid the investigation.
More movies, cable. Gibson — whose career hit a slowdown — is also in “Daddy’s Home 2” (2017), at 8 and 10 p.m. on FXX. It’s fairly fun, with the clever casting of Gibson and John Lithgow as the fathers of Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. Also at 8 p.m. are music films: “A Hard Day’s Night” (1964), Turner Classic Movies, catches the joy of early Beatles; “Judy” (2019), Epix, has the pain of Judy Garland’s later years. The latter is followed by Elton John’s terrific “Rocketman” (2019) at 10.
“AFV: America, This Is You,” 8 p.m., ABC. This reruns a special from December, celebrating the first 30 years — really, 30 — of “America;s Funniest Home Videos.” And yes, the series continues — reruns now, new episodes next season — at 7 p.m. Sundays.
“Magnum P.I.,” 9 p.m., CBS. In a rerun from November, the new Magnum/Higgins detective partnership is tested when a woman wants them to recover her $3 million in stolen drug money to save her husband’s life. That follows an 8 p.m. “MacGyver” rerun in which Matty’s ex-husband wants help rescuing his wife and daughter.
“Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. This reruns Kristen Stewart’s second turn as host. Coldplay is the music guest.
