SUNDAY: Comedian and actress Amanda Seales is our host for the “BET Awards,” a celebration of Black excellence in music, television, film, sports, and philanthropy. Performers include Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Kane Brown, Lil Wayne, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, Usher and more. Drake leads all nominees with six. (8 p.m., BET and CBS).

SUNDAY: Based on the book of the same name, “I’ll Be Gone in the Dark” is a riveting documentary series that explores author Michelle McNamara’s obsessive investigation into the violent world of the predator she dubbed “The Golden State Killer.” McNamara, who died in 2016, spent the last years of her life trying to find the serial rapist and killer who terrorized California in the 1970s and ’80s. (10 p.m., HBO).

MONDAY: Brace yourself for more raucous action on Dwayne Johnson’s “The Titan Games.” Tonight brings action from the West Region in an episode titled, curiously enough, “The Circus Comes to Town.” (8 p.m., NBC).

TUESDAY: “Lost on Everest” is a compelling new documentary that questions whether Mount Everest was first summited in 1953, as many believe. The film follows a 2019 expedition seeking to discover if Andrew “Sandy” Irvine and George Leigh Mallory actually reached the top back in 1924. While Mallory’s body was discovered in 1999, Irving’s body never was. (9 p.m., National Geographic).

TUESDAY: The action heats up in “Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story.” Betty faces Dan in divorce court, where she is handed a crushing defeat and is sent past a point of no return. (10 p.m., USA).

TUESDAY: In the season finale of “The Genetic Detective,” CeCe Moore tackles her first-ever active case. She also sees the first jury trial conviction from a cold case on which she worked. (10 p.m., ABC).

WEDNESDAY: Remember “Unsolved Mysteries?” The classic true-crime series gets a 12-episode reboot that fuses elements from the original show with immersive, character-driven stories pegged to chilling cases of murder, abductions and more. (Netflix).

THURSDAY: In the Season 1 finale of “Council of Dads,” Anthony arrives at the storm-ravaged Perry home to find Robin and Theo in peril. Meanwhile, Oliver puts all his medical skills to work when Sage goes into early labor. (8 p.m., NBC).

FRIDAY: “The Baby-Sitters Club” is a new adaptation based on the popular book series. It follows the friendship and adventures of five middle-schoolers who launch a babysitting business in the fictional town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut. (Netflix).

SATURDAY: Due to the coronavirus pandemic, “A Capitol Fourth” won’t be be held on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol as usual. But the annual special will feature some fireworks and pre-taped performances by Patti LaBelle, John Fogerty, the Temptations, Renée Fleming, Trace Adkins, Yolanda Adams and more. (8 p.m., PBS).
