And we're back! Another exciting season of Iowa wrestling is set to get underway tonight, with the 21st-ranked Princeton Tigers visiting the top-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes. The Tigers can't match the top-to-bottom lineup firepower of the Hawkeyes, but they do have a few individual studs that could make for some very good individual matches.

285 #3 Tony Cassioppi (JR, 0-0) vs Jack Del Garbino (SO, 2-2)

We will obviously not be seeing a full-strength Iowa lineup on the mat tonight. The biggest absentee is Spencer Lee at 125, but Max Murin (the projected starter at 149) and Michael Kemerer (at 174) are also absentees from these projected lineups. I haven't heard about any serious ailments with them, so hopefully these are just minor injury concerns. It's a long season and I'd expect Iowa to be judicious with handling guys to make sure they're in peak form for March.

Austin DeSanto and Jacob Warner are also listed as OR options at their respective weights (133 and 197), so they may or may not go tonight. Warner was reportedly limping after his final match at the Luther Open last week, so he may be held out for precautionary reasons. And Abe Assad wrestled a preliminary match tonight already, so I don't know if he'll be wrestling twice in one night; while he isn't listed above, it seems likely that Nelson Brands may start at 184 in this dual.

I'm not going to do a weight-by-weight preview, but even with the absentees, I'd still expect a pretty comfortable Iowa win. Glory should win 125 with bonus points and I'd probably make Monday a slight favorite at 157, but Iowa should probably win almost all of the remaining matches. Eierman, Marinelli, and Cassioppi should have excellent chances to post bonus points as well (ditto DeSanto if he competes).

Let's call it Hawks by about 20 -- Iowa 30, Princeton 11.

I'll post results in the comments below, as well as on Twitter and in our Discord. Feel free to join in the conversation, too.
