Chris Swaim kept his plans quiet when he announced he was leaving his gig as weekend meteorologist at Milwaukee's WISN-TV (Channel 12) June 27.
"It is a great opportunity and I am really looking forward to my next chapter,” Swaim wrote at the time.
Now he's spilled it: He's the new weeknight meteorologist at KMTV-TV in Omaha, Nebraska.
"Now that my (first) show is in the bag, I am so happy to announce I joined the team at KMTV in Omaha!" Swaim tweeted Thursday evening about his new post.
Swaim left WISN after three years as a weekend meteorologist at Milwaukee's ABC affiliate.
Swaim's landing at CBS' Omaha affiliate makes it something of a swap. Two days after he disclosed his departure, WISN announced his replacement: Molly Bernard, who is coming to Milwaukee from KETV-TV, also in Omaha.
Bernard's first day at WISN is July 18.
KETV is, like WISN, owned by Hearst Television. KMTV is owned by Scripps, which also owns Milwaukee's WTMJ-TV (Channel 4).
