HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER 10 p.m. on ABC. After six seasons, the story of the criminal defense lawyer Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) comes to a close Thursday night, as “How to Get Away With Murder” airs its final episode. In the penultimate episode, a high-stakes trial began — with Annalise representing herself. How will it end? In a video promoting the finale, the show’s creator, Peter Nowalk, cautioned audiences not to expect justice. “I would be a big liar if I told a story where everyone got what they deserved,” he said. “That’s not what happens in life.”

THE LODGE (2020) Stream on Hulu; rent on Amazon, Google Play, iTunes, Vudu and YouTube. It’s May and spring is in bloom — but now social distancing is causing cabin fever. So some viewers may relate to this stylish horror movie, about two siblings snowbound in a rural lodge with their disturbed soon-to-be stepmother. Directed by the Austrian filmmakers Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala (“Goodnight Mommy”), the movie centers on Aiden (Jaeden Martell) and Mia (Lia McHugh), a brother and sister whose father leaves them in the care of his girlfriend, Grace (Riley Keough), who we learn had a traumatic childhood as the only surviving member of a suicide cult. That dark past comes to haunt all three characters, as the snow keeps them locked indoors. “Despite its visual flair and unrelentingly taut atmosphere,” Jeannette Catsoulis wrote in her review for The New York Times, “‘The Lodge’ is more successful in sustaining unease — like the eerie, unexplained shots of a spooky dollhouse — than in building a convincing narrative.” She labeled it “more unsettling than terrifying.”

THE SKIN I LIVE IN (2011) Rent on Amazon, Google Play, Vudu and YouTube. While heavy snow confines characters in “The Lodge,” a person does the caging in “The Skin I Live In,” a psychological thriller from Pedro Almodóvar. That person is Robert Ledgard, a coldblooded plastic surgeon played by Antonio Banderas, who keeps a prisoner, Vera (Elena Anaya), locked away in his mansion in Spain. The many mysteries that the plot unravels include how and why she ended up there. “There are several genres nimbly folded into ‘The Skin I Live In,’ which might also be described as an existential mystery, a melodramatic thriller, a medical horror film or just a polymorphous extravaganza,” Manohla Dargis wrote in her review for The Times. “In other words, it’s an Almodóvar movie with all the attendant gifts that implies: lapidary technique, calculated perversity, intelligent wit.”

WHEN THE WORLD BREAKS (2010) Stream on Tubi; rent on Amazon, Google Play, iTunes, Vudu and YouTube. The actor and comedian Jerry Stiller died on Monday at 92. If you want to see Stiller’s “Seinfeld” character celebrate “a Festivus for the rest of us,” go to Hulu. If you want to see Stiller himself tell anecdotes from his childhood, consider watching this documentary, which looks at creativity during the Great Depression. Its other interviewees include Phyllis Diller, Ray Bradbury and Buzz Aldrin.
