Here are the TV shows and Movie Shoots Shut Down by Coronavirus - Vanity Fair

Fortunately, reruns can never go on hiatus. As the coronavirus pandemic impacts all facets of life around the globe, the entertainment industry has been forced to delay or suspend production on numerous upcoming movies and television shows.

On Friday, both Netflix and Disney were the first of the major studios to halte productions, a sign of more surely to come as states ban gatherings of people, cancel school and urge isolation to slow the spread of the deadly virus.

Below, a list of the major disruptions caused by the coronavirus.

Late Night

Jimmy Kimmel, Trevor Noah, John Oliver, Bill Maher, Samantha Bee, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, James Corden, and Stephen Colbert will all go on hiatus between now and at least March 30, though a return at that time is far from guaranteed. Of the remaining late-night shows, CBS has not yet put The Late Late Show with James Corden on an official hiatus, nor has NBC made a decision about the fate of Saturday Night Live. That show is currently set to return on March 28 with host John Krasinski, who was presumably ready to promote A Quiet Place Part II before the coronavirus forced Paramount to remove the film from its March 20 release date.

Currently Suspended

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah
Full Frontal with Samantha Bee
Jimmy Kimmel Live
Late Night with Seth Meyers
The Late Late Show with James Corden
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
Lights Out with David Spade
Real Time with Bill Maher
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Broadcast and Cable Series

NBCUniversal suspended production on all 35 of its shows across syndication and broadcast, meaning the popular Chicago franchise as well and Law & Order: SVU have been halted. Disney Television Studios revealed it has pressed pause on Grey's Anatomy and the forthcoming Aretha Franklin edition of Genius as well as numerous pilots. Likewise, WarnerMedia put the brakes on Euphoria, Righteous Gemstones, and Snowpiercer, while Warner Bros. Television group shut down everything from Young Sheldon to The Bachelorette to The CW superhero shows like Batwoman. AMC similarly pressed pause on The Walking Dead, while ViacomCBS stopped Survivor and The Amazing Race.

Streaming Shows

Disney+ was forced to stop production in Prague on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Apple TV+ paused The Morning Show and its other shows, including See. CBS All Access paused The Good Fight. But coronavirus hasn't just affected shows in production: a number of series, including Netflix's Russian Doll and the Apple TV + show Little America have been put on hold indefinitely before production even started.

Netflix, on Friday, also stopped production all series and films across the board in the U.S. and Canada, including Season 4 of Stranger Things.

Syndicated Shows

In addition to The Kelly Clarkson Show, new episodes of The Wendy Williams Show have been halted, as have episodes of The Price is Right. Ellen DeGeneres also announced her talk show will go on break until at least March 30.

Films

While Disney waits to decide the release fate of Black Widow (currently due in theaters on May 1), it has paused production on Shang-Chi as director Destin Daniel Cretton chose to self-isolate out of an abundance of caution. “As many of you know, Destin, our director, has a newborn baby. He wanted to exercise additional caution given the current environment and decided to get tested for Covid-19 today. He is currently self-isolating under the recommendation of his doctor,” said a note distributed to the crew, according to Deadline. “While he waits for the results of the test, we are suspending 1st unit production in an abundance of caution until he gets the results this coming week. Second unit and off production will continue as normal. We will reach out to everyone by Tuesday for the latest update.”
