BILLIONS 9 p.m. on Showtime. “Billions,” a critics’ darling about power politics and high finance in New York, returns just in time to fill the “Homeland”-shaped void in Showtime’s schedule. Last season’s détente between the federal government watchdog Chuck (Paul Giamatti) and the hedge-fund king Axe (Damian Lewis) did not last long. In Season 5, the pair are yet again determined to take each other down, while new foes complicate matters. Julianna Margulies (“The Good Wife”) and Corey Stoll (“House of Cards”) join the show as recurring cast members. She plays a professor and author on sex and relationships; he takes the role of a social impact pioneer that challenges Axe’s power. And as Chuck butts heads with a dogged district attorney (Roma Maffia), his increasingly independent wife, Wendy (Maggie Siff), forges unexpected alliances.

ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST 9 p.m. on NBC. While this musical dramedy has a quirky plot — Zoey (Jane Levy), a computer programmer in San Francisco, hears others’ thoughts in the form of pop songs — the last few episodes have revolved around death and grief, hinting that Zoey’s ailing father (Peter Gallagher) won’t be around much longer. In this season finale, Zoey hears a dark tune in her head, essentially a warning of things to come, and tries to prevent a terrible incident. (It’s unclear whether the show will be back for a second run.) The third season finale of GOOD GIRLS follows at 10 p.m.

WESTWORLD 9 p.m. on HBO; stream on HBO platforms. There was plenty to follow in last week’s episode of this sci-fi drama, including a reveal, a rebellion and more than one showdown. (Spoilers ahead.) Caleb (Aaron Paul) discovered his memories had been altered. Charlotte (Tessa Thompson) opted out of Dolores’s plan, instigating a deadly battle between Musashi (Hiroyuki Sanada) and Hanaryo (Tao Okamoto). And most importantly, we learned that Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) wants Caleb to lead the revolution that she started, though it’s unclear whether that was her vision all along. The third season wraps up Sunday, but fans can breathe a sigh of relief — the series was recently renewed for a fourth run.

GLORIA (2014) Stream on Amazon; rent on FandangoNOW, Google Play, iTunes, Vudu or YouTube. This Chilean romantic comedy by the director Sebastián Lelio stars Paulina García as the title character, a free-spirited woman in her 50s who, long divorced with adult children, spends her nights out on the town drinking, smoking and searching for a handsome man to sink her claws into. During one of those nights, she starts an impassioned affair with a former naval officer, Rodolfo (Sergio Hernández), who is also divorced. But he comes with some baggage: Unlike her, he is attached to his children and former spouse. If the plot sounds familiar, that may be because Lelio recently adapted the film for an American audience with Julianne Moore and John Turturro.
