Running out of Netflix and chill steam? Here's this week's list of the best things to watch on TV for the week of April 19-25.
We'll see the season finale for "Better Call Saul." And it's the series finales for both "Empire" and the second coming of "Will & Grace."
Sunday, April 19
“Masterpiece: World on Fire”
9 p.m., PBS. Of all the TV nights, Sunday has been the most affected by the coronavirus shutdown. A new “Fargo” was supposed to open tonight, a “Walking Dead” spin-off was expected last week; both were postponed. “American Idol” has delayed live episodes until next Sunday; in May, CBS will replace its dramas with Sunday movies. One solution is to catch this terrific World War II tale. Tonight, Lois sings to the troops (including her ex-lover Harry) in France. Her brother is in a fierce naval battle.

“Better Call Saul” season finale
9 p.m., AMC, rerunning at 11:30. By now, Jimmy should be used to change. He changed his business name to Saul … he married Kim … he agreed to haul Lalo’s $7 million bail money (for a $100,000 fee), barely surviving a shoot-out and a desert trek. But last week’s change was too much for him: Kim badgered the ominous Lalo; she also quit her law firm, to do pro bono work. And now? Jimmy and Kim make a sideways move, AMC says, with tough results; also, Nacho gets too close to the cartels.
Tuesday, April 21
“Empire” series finale
8 p.m., Fox. For six seasons, Lucious and Cookie have raged, loved, divorced, re-united and re-split; they’ve lied, schemed and almost killed each other. Now, will they end up together? Possibly. Last week, a music mogul tried to crush the “Bossyfest” concert for Cookie’s new label; enraged at the white bias, Lucious said his Empire label will link with hers, for a massive festival. As that nears, Cookie reflects on her life; Lucious, torn between her and Yana, grasps for control of the Empire label.

Earth Day telecasts
On the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, TV celebrates for us. “Born Wild: The Next Generation” simulcasts at 8 p.m. on Disney, National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild. Jane Goodall is in three films: National Geographic has the splendid “Jane” at noon and debuts “Jane Goodall: The Hope” at 9 p.m. ... which is when BBC America debuts “She Walks With Apes,” about Goodall and others. Disney also has two gorgeous movies – “Monkey Kingdom” at 3:50 and 6:35 p.m and “Penguins” at 5:15 and 9.
Thursday, April 23
“Will & Grace” series finale
9 p.m., NBC, with retrospective at 9:30. In 1998, this was revolutionary – two main characters (one gay, one not) sharing an apartment, plus friends (one gay, one not) stopping in. The show drew six Emmy nominations for best comedy (winning once), left in 2007 ... and returned a decade later for three years. Now Will and Grace prepare to move to the small-town home they bought ... except she keeps almost giving birth. Karen wants closure with her ex-husband; Jack may finally reach Broadway.
Friday, April 24
NFL draft
7-11:30 p.m., ABC, ESPN, NFL Network. The draft actually starts at 8 p.m. Thursday, but the Bengals’ portion should only last a moment: They get the first pick and (one assumes) super-quarterback Joe Burrow. The rest of the night has others drafting and dickering. Friday has the 2nd and 3rd rounds, Saturday (noon to 7 p.m.) 4th through 7th, with the Bengals (barring a trade) starting each. Instead of the usual hoopla, this will have a few social-distanced people at the ESPN studio, with the others at home.
Saturday, April 25
“Line of Duty”
10 p.m., AMC. With more time to watch TV and fewer episodes available (due to virus-caused shutdowns), we have to find new choices. This is a strong one – BBC’s top-rated show, now airing weekly on AMC. Gates (superbly played by Lennie James) was a good cop until he took money from Jackie ... who was then killed. As Arnott probes the corruption, Kate feigns friendship with Gates. It’s a powerful hour, with this plot wrapping up next week. Or just go to www.acorn.tv and binge it all.
