The Portland Timbers begin the 2021 Major League Soccer season on the road as they get set to visit the Vancouver Whitecaps in an unfamiliar setting when this match takes place at Rio Tinto Stadium on Sunday, April 18 at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET with a live broadcast on ROOT Sports.

While the Whitecaps may be a familiar foe for Portland, the venue for this matchup is a bit different. After using Portland’s Providence Park as its home base for part of last season, the Whitecaps will again be playing home games in the U.S. for at least the first part of the season as travel restrictions still make frequent trips between the U.S. and Canada impractical.
