There's something so special about the way Thanksgiving is captured on television. Our favorite TV shows have proven to us how creative they can be when including the fall holiday in their programming. We obviously expect the basics to make an appearance on our screen: turkey carving, plenty of festive fall sweaters, and some family (or friend) drama brewing. But that's not what makes us so keen on tuning in to these holiday specials. We've rounded up some of our favorite shows that have episodes dedicated to Thanksgiving, and each one bringing something different to the table.

With the range of shows on this list, there's surely something that will satisfy everyone. Classic sitcoms like Friends show us that a Friendsgiving can be just as special as a holiday spent with family. Wholesome dramas like This Is Us challenge the meaning of the word "tradition," and show us that family looks different to everyone. Buffy the Vampire Slayer puts its own supernatural twist to the holiday special, enticing fans with all things spooky and scary.
