Bupkis, which is billed as “absurd” and “unfiltered,” has landed at Peacock.
Pete Davidsons Autobiographical TV Show Gets a Name and Home

Pete Davidson is taking a page out of the Seinfeld playbook. Just as that NBC comedy was “a show about nothing,” Davidson’s semi-autobiographical series is titled Bupkis, which quite literally translates to “nothing at all.” Produced by Saturday Night Live head Lorne Michaels, the show has been given a straight-to-series order from Peacock.

The previously announced project is being described as a half-hour live action comedy that chronicles a “heightened, fictionalized version” of Davidson’s life. Bupkis will reportedly “combine grounded storytelling with absurd elements from the unfiltered and completely original worldview for which Pete is well known.” (To everyone, that is, except for Britney Spears.) Davidson is writing and executive producing the series with Dave Sirus, his co-writer on Judd Apatow’s The King of Staten Island with, as well as Crashing’s Judah Miller. The show’s other producers include Andrew Singer and Erin David.

Filming for the series will likely take Davidson away from SNL once more. He is currently on hiatus from his eighth season to shoot Miramax’s horror film The Home. Davidson previously floated taking a permanent exit from the sketch series last May, telling The Hollywood Reporter that he was “ready to hang up the jersey.”

It’s unclear how much Bupkis will delve into Davidson’s real life. But his exploits are ripe for exploration, from purchasing a Staten Island Ferry with Colin Jost to branding himself with girlfriend Kim Kardashian’s name. The only difficulty will be deciding which adventure gets adapted first.
