ABERDEEN – After reopening in May from the pandemic, the Elkin Theatre has shown classic movies from the ‘70s to the ‘00s. Beginning in August, it will return to showing more current films it can acquire from movie production studios.
According to Elkin Theatre Board of Directors President Bob Seymour, movies will continue to be shown on Saturdays only until the crowd sizes increase to allow for Friday showings also.
Movies scheduled for the coming weeks include “A Quiet Place 2,” “F9 (of the “Fast and the Furious” franchise” and “Black Widow.”
Although the first two movies shown in May, “Jaws” and “Back to the Future,” attracted an average of 72 moviegoers, the average attendance since then has been 40.
