PONTIAC (WEEK) -- The spotlight was on Pontiac today as hundres of people were at work shooting scenes for the FX show, "Fargo."
Several streets were shut down to make way for a production crew of over 100 people, but even with a few closures, the people of Pontiac were still more than happy to welcome Hollywood to their downtown.
Filming was scheduled to last two days, and to wrap up on Tuesday afternoon.
'It just kind of puts us on the map a bit more, and it brings more attention to us. I think it's really good for the community," said Andrew Lattin with Delong's Casual Dining.
When asked what the production crews were exactly filming, they couldn't say much.
"Redhawk Productions is filming scenes for an upcoming TV show," said Alex Hughes of the production company.
City officials say it's an episode for the fourth season of "Fargo," which is set in Kansas City in the 1950s. Word on the street says it's a scene that features a police car pulling someone over, but none of the major stars like Chris Rock or Jason Schwartzman were on set.
So, why downtown Pontiac? Hughes said the city was the exact backdrop they were looking for.
"Downtown, it's a really good looking downtown. Really, we're here for the square," he said.
Mayor Bill Alvey said everything so far has been running smoothly.
"They've manned the corners well, helping with traffic -- well pleased so far, looking forward to the final product," Alvey said.
