During the pandemic, when so much of life was unpredictable and difficult, TV was something to cling to. Can’t go out? OK, then, stay indoors and escape via TV. Millions did just that, whether they tuned into familiar broadcast fare, or sampled something new on one of the ever-increasing streaming services.

Now, with vaccines available and coronavirus cases slowing, the urge to flee the house is bound to be irresistible. But for those moments when you still want to chill on the couch, the summer TV season is serving up a buffet of comedies, game shows and dramas. Here’s a look at some of the summer TV offerings that sound like they’re worth staying home for.

JUNE 9

“Loki”: Tom Hiddleston stars as the entertaining villain fans came to know from the “Thor” movie franchise in this new series from Marvel Studios. The show will take place after what transpired in “Avengers: Endgame,” and involves adventure, time travel and Loki being Loki. (Streaming on Disney Plus)

JUNE 11

“In the Heights”: This isn’t a TV show, but interest in the filmed adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Broadway musical hit is sky-high. The film will play in theaters, and also stream on HBO Max. John M. Chu (“Crazy Rich Asians”) directs a cast led by Anthony Ramos. (Streaming on HBO Max)

JUNE 18

“Physical”: Rose Byrne stars in a new dramedy as a housewife in the 1980s who turns to aerobic workouts as she tries to deal with her disappointing marriage, body issues and more. (Streaming on Apple TV Plus)

JUNE 20

“Evil”: After what feels like an eternity, the clever series about a team that investigates supernatural occurrences finally returns. But this time, it’s not on CBS. The series created by Robert and Michelle King (“The Good Wife”) has moved to Paramount Plus. Katja Herbers, Mike Colter and Aasif Mandvi head the fine cast. (Streaming on Paramount Plus)

JUNE 24

“Making It”: The charming crafting competition series from executive producers and hosts Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman returns for a new season, and we are totally here for it. (8 p.m. NBC)

JULY 1

“Top Chef Amateurs”: The “Top Chef” spinoff, which filmed in Portland after Season 18 of the mothership was ending, features home cooks trying to impress the judges, with a little help from “Top Chef” veterans. Gail Simmons hosts. (9 p.m. Bravo)

JULY 2

“Monsters At Work”: This sequel to the Pixar animated movie, “Monsters, Inc.,” keeps the story going, though it features a new central character (voiced by Ben Feldman). Billy Crystal and John Goodman do return, though, as the voices of Mike and Sully. (Streaming on Disney Plus)

JULY 11

“The White Lotus”: Connie Britton stars in a satire from Mike White (“Enlightened”) about guests and employees at a resort in Hawaii, and how things get less comfy when somebody turns up dead. Jennifer Coolidge, Molly Shannon and Steve Zahn also star. (9 p.m. HBO)

JULY 13

“Miracle Workers: Oregon Trail”: The anthology returns for Season 3, this time starring Daniel Radcliffe as a small-town preacher who teams with an outlaw (Steve Buscemi) to lead a wagon train that’s headed to Oregon in 1844. (Time TBA, TBS)

JULY 16

“Making the Cut”: The original “Project Runway” dynamic duo, Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, return for a second season of their international fashion competition series. (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)

“Schmigadoon!”: If that title sounds like a comic spin on “Brigadoon,” it’s no accident. Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong star in a musical comedy about a couple who stumble across a town that seems to be a classic musical come to life. The cast also includes theater pros such as Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming and Aaron Tveit. (Streaming on Apple TV Plus)

JULY 23

“Ted Lasso”: The feel-good comedy that got many viewers through the darkest days of the pandemic returns for a second season. Back for more is Jason Sudeikis as the upbeat American football coach-turned British-soccer-team-coach, who is, as ever, facing some obstacles, but whose “Believe” motto keeps him smiling. (Streaming on Apple TV Plus)

AUGUST 18

“Nine Perfect Strangers”: It’s a reunion of sorts for writer David E. Kelley, star Nicole Kidman and novelist Liane Moriarty, whose first time working together produced the HBO hit, “Big Little Lies.” This time out, Kelley adapts another novel by Moriarty, and Kidman stars as the director of an upscale wellness spa. The cast also includes Regina Hall, Melissa McCarthy, Luke Evans and Bobby Cannavale. (Streaming on Hulu)
