The 2021 Tour de France gets underway on Saturday, June 26 (6/26/2021) in the port city of Brest, France, kicking off a 21-stage, 23-day cycling Grand Tour.
TV coverage of the 2021 Tour de France will take place on NBC Sports from June 26 to July 18. Select stages will also be broadcast on NBC. Additional coverage will be available on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock, every day. TV coverage can be streamed on fuboTV, AT&T TV and other live TV streaming services. Full broadcast schedule below.
The Tour traverses a vast swath of France, from the northwest Atlantic coast to the Mediterranean shores, and even a brief excursion into Andorra. In total, it covers 3,414 kilometers (2,121 miles).
A total of 184 riders will compete, from 23 8-rider teams. They will be tested on 8 flat, 5 hilly and 6 mountain stages, as well as 2 individual time trials.
Spectators will return to the race this year, following 2020′s Covid-19-related restrictions.
“I’m really happy that after a difficult 2020, there will be more fans lining the route again this season,” Peter Sagan, a three-time world champion and seven-time Tour winner, told DW.
