‘Tommy’ premiere: How to watch, live stream, TV channel, time - AL.com

Edie Falco returns to the small screen as the first female leader of the LAPD. Tommy premieres tonight, Feb. 6, at 9 p.m. EST on CBS and CBS All Access.

Falco, known for her roles in The Sopranos and Nurse Jackie, stars as Tommy, a New York cop who gets picked to run the LAPD after the former police chief (Corbin Bernsen) is ousted because of scandals and sex crimes. Tommy makes the cross-country move in part to reconnect with her estranged daughter Kate (Olivia Lucy Phillip).

Tommy, who is also a lesbian, is seen by her not-very-respectful colleagues as a diversity hire because a judge told Mayor Buddy Gray (Thomas Sadoski) that he had to hire a woman. While Tommy tries to whip the LAPD into shape, she butts heads with the corrupt mayor and consequently the mafia.
