The fifth season of Outlander is premiering tonight, Sunday, Feb. 16, at 8 p.m. ET on Starz. But for Starz app or Starz On Demand subscribers, they can watch the episode on Valentine’s Day.
The season five premiere episode is titled “The Fiery Cross” and focuses on Brianna Fraser and Roger MacKenzie’s wedding at Fraser Ridge. Fans can celebrate this union and also note how far Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) have come as a couple. They’ve started to settle down, but they aren’t getting too comfortable with the Revolutionary War on the horizon.
“I think [showrunner] Matt Roberts did a great job compressing The Gathering into this opening episode,” executive producer Toni Graphia told SYFY. “We knew a huge part of the front of the book is taking place over three days, is all in one place, and is going to be one big party. We’d love to go too, but we don’t have three episodes to do it if we’re going to get to the rest of the juicy stuff in the rest of the book.”
