Through 3 Quarters

The UTSA Roadrunners are on the board, but we're still waiting on the Rice Owls to respond. Three quarters in and UTSA's offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating Rice 45 to nothing three quarters in.

QB Frank Harris has led the way so far for the Roadrunners, as he has passed for two TDs and 125 yards on 19 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 47 yards. The Owls have been led by RB Ari Broussard, who so far has picked up 61 yards on the ground on ten carries.

UTSA's lead is the biggest they have had this year going into the fourth quarter.

Who's Playing

Rice @ UTSA

Current Records: Rice 2-3; UTSA 6-0

What to Know

The Rice Owls are 0-5 against the UTSA Roadrunners since November of 2015, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit Saturday. Rice's week off comes to an end as they meet up with UTSA at 6 p.m. ET at Alamodome. Both teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins.

The Owls didn't have too much breathing room in their contest with the Southern Miss Golden Eagles two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 24-19 victory.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Roadrunners beat the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers 52-46 last week. QB Frank Harris went supernova for UTSA as he passed for six TDs and 349 yards on 38 attempts in addition to picking up 51 yards on the ground and snatching one receiving TD.

Rice is the clear underdog, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. Those who got lucky with them against the spread two weeks ago might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the squad has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.

The wins brought Rice up to 2-3 and UTSA to 6-0. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Owls are stumbling into the game with the 239th most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 16 on the season. The Roadrunners have experienced some struggles of their own as they are 226th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 13 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
