THE TV KICKOFF: USWNT starts its Olympic journey on USA Channel on Wednesday, July 21 - frontrowsoccer.com

STAMFORD, Conn. – The U.S. women’s national team and the USA women’s softball team highlight the first competitions at the Tokyo Olympics, beginning one week from today, Tuesday, July 20 across the networks of NBCUniversal.

Action begins on NBCSN on Tuesday – three nights before the Opening Ceremony – as softball returns to the Olympics for the first time since the 2008 Beijing Olympics with a doubleheader as host Japan faces Australia live at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the USA taking on Italy at 11 p.m. ET.

On Wednesday, July 21, the USWNT which has won Olympic gold four times (1996, 2004, 2008 and 2012) – kicks off against nemesis Sweden at 4:30 a.m. ET on USA (with encore coverage at 8:30 a.m. ET and 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN). The USWNT features 11 players from the 2016 Olympic team, including Alex Morgan, Carli Lloyd, Tobin Heath, Megan Rapinoe and Crystal Dunn.

On Thursday, July 22, live competition coverage features men’s soccer, highlighted by 2016 Olympic gold medalists Brazil facing Germany at 7:30 a.m. ET on USA Network. On NBCSN, qualifying heats for rowing get underway live at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Coverage of the Opening Ceremony is on Friday, July 23 on NBCUniversal.
