The Oscar winner and producing partner Sophie Mas will develop and produce projects for the tech giant's TV+ platform.

Natalie Portman is strengthening her ties with Apple.

A week after signing on to star in a limited series for the tech giant's Apple TV+ streaming service, the Oscar winner has signed a first-look TV deal with the company. Under the multi-year deal, Apple will have the first shot at projects developed by Portman and producing partner Sophie Mas via their newly formed company, MountainA.

"We launched MountainA to support meaningful, timely projects and we couldn’t imagine a better partner to start this adventure with than the fantastic team at Apple, who in only a short time already have a track record of working with some of the world’s most inspiring filmmakers," said Portman and Mas in a statement posted to their social media channels. "We are excited to create and develop daring stories together."

Portman and Lupita Nyong'o will star in and executive produce Lady in the Lake, a limited series based on a novel of the same name by Laura Lippman. Set in 1960s Baltimore, show revolves around housewife and mother Maddie Schwartz (Portman), who reinvents herself as an investigative reporter after becoming interested in an unsolved murder. Her new calling puts her on a collision course with Cleo Sherwood (Nyong'o), who juggles motherhood, several jobs and a commitment to the city's Black progressive agenda.

Portman and Mas are executive producing the series via MountainA, alongside Nyong'o, writer-director Alma Har'el and producing partner Christopher Leggett; writer Dre Ryan; Jean-Marc Vallée and Nathan Ross of Crazyrose; Bad Wolf America's Julie Gardner; and author Lippman. Endeavor content produces Lady in the Lake with Crazyrose and Bad Wolf America.

Portman joins a roster of A-listers who have deals at Apple that includes Oprah Winfrey, Alfonso Cuarón, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Sharon Horgan, Dickinson creator Alena Smith and The Morning Show's Kerry Ehrin, among others.

Portman is repped by CAA and the Law Offices of George Sheanshang. MountainA is with CAA and Frankfurt Kurnit.
